Management Development Programme 2011

Solving the Human Puzzle – Psychologists at Work
People are the competitive edge for any successful organization

Chetana’s R. K. Institute of Management & Research and Chetana’s Institute of Management & Research organized its very first “Management Development Programme”. This programme was aimed at improving and enhancing team selection abilities and employee development processes by the use of ‘Psychometric Profiling’.
An entrepreneur is someone who is inspired by an idea, which he eventually turns into reality. But for this reality to take shape, he needs a team. Starting a new venture and building it into a company is all about team work.  After all, the achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of a team.
The onus of selecting the right mix of people - the right man for the right job, is indeed a difficult task.  Employee assessment for skill sets such as competency in core functional areas, self motivation, result orientation and people skills needs to have a systematic and scientific method to ensure accuracy.  One of the ways to effectively conduct such complex assessments is the use of sound ‘Psychometric testing’.
We greatly appreciate Professor. KV Ganpathy of Chetana, for his judicious initiative in proficiently managing the MDP and making it a grand success.
This four day intensive workshop and certification programme, held from February 16 to 19th, 2011, was organized by Chetana’s in association with two internationally renowned organizations namely;
National Academics of Psychology (NAOP) and Saville Consulting.
It was attended by both Academicians and some esteemed Corporates such as HDFC, Taj, Godrej, L&T and Iken to name a few.
The programme was facilitated by Dr. Mahesh Deshmukh. Dr. Deshmukh has acquired his Masters in Industrial Psychology and an M.Sc in Management from National University, Singapore.   He also has a Ph.D in Applied Psychology from IIT, Mumbai and is presently heading Maruma Consulting as MD.
He was joined by Mr.Richard McConkey as co – facilitator. Mr. Richard McConkey is an Occupational Psychologist, with an M. Sc in Psychology from Aston University, U.K.
The highlights of the session were:
  • Understanding the importance of statistical measures in validating the Psychometric tests
  • Understanding oasys personality profile of Saville Consulting
  • Feedback & Report writing

We are confident that such workshops will prove effective in employee recruitment and team building processes in sectors across the industry.
